So I went ahead and did it. I started a blog... A really easy baby and maternity leave will do that to you. I am not expecting younghouselove success (another of my favorite blogs); book deals; advertising dollars, etc.  Mainly, I wanted a place to tell people about my favorite hobby: shopping. And not just any kind of shopping... Bargain Shopping.  See I LOVE clothes.... love love... want to open a store, work for Vogue kind of love. Alas, however, I am a lawyer. I know... I actually do love law too but not in the same way as clothes. Law is my contribution to the world. Clothes are the world's contribution to me :).

Just to give you an example, in school and college, one of my main reasons for not smoking or going to super expensive dinners was that I would rather spend the money on clothes. Any free time I had I took the bus to Georgetown or Friendship Heights and walked around. I have devised numerous ways (some of which include living on ramen noodles) to scrape enough money to buy a coveted pair of seven jeans. I still remember my first pair. They were err.... slightly eighties looking I must admit. I remember my hand was shaking as I wrote a check for $120.00 for a pair of jeans at Neimans.... And just like that I was hooked. No turning back. As I got older and my taste got more expensive, I came to the realization that I have champagne taste, but not quite a champagne budget. So what's a good lawyer to do... develop an argument that I could still have my designer duds, without the designer prices without of course breaking the law (i.e. conversion of chattel if my law school mind serves me correctly...) So that's what this blog will tell you. How to get the best designer clothes at a fraction of the price while remaining a law abiding citizen. I know I am not the first person to have this idea or blog about it but nonetheless I am proceeding forward. :)

So I'll begin with earlier in the week. I needed some sweaters and who doesn't love cashmere. However, we all know that cashmere equal big bucks. So I headed to my favorite consignment store Labels in Buckhead. I got a Vince Cashmere sweater that would sell for about 300.00 for $40.00. I then got a cashmere Autumn Cashmere sweater for 30.00 that would originally sell for about $250.00. Now as someone who has worked in high end retail ... I can tell you I was able to get two cashmere sweaters for less than wholesale of one.  The best part about consignment is you can take your old stuff and get credit towards new stuff. I have taken all my maternity jeans to be sold so I can get some great new stuff soon :).

Yesterday I got another Labels fabulous find! A See by Chloe (Chloe's less expensive version of Chloe; think Marc by Marc Jacobs) for $50.00. Original retail...probably around $375.00.

Perfect Fall Color..

So today I found another bargain from Banana Republic but you will have to wait until tomorrow to hear about it. Colin (my super cute baby boy) is getting his shots tomorrow so I am thinking a fussy baby won't have me going many places.

  3. HI gg! I love that you are blogging. How is the baby?? I found that for me, the easiest way to load pictures to the blogs is through flickr. You can download the app straight to your phone (I think iPhones do it fastest) and then you can just link the picture to the blog. So easy! Not sure you needed the advice, but saw the comment above mine.

    Love you!
